Agatha Kronberg - Modern Artist
Lauren Pedersen was born in Miami, Florida, in 1999. The vibrant and diverse landscape of Miami-Dade County has profoundly shaped her life experiences and continues to influence her daily work as an art educator in the community.
Inspired by her exposure to Art Basel Miami during her adolescence and her pursuit of the arts in school, Pedersen chose to study Art History as an undergraduate. While working in various sectors of the art world during her B.A. in Art History, she began to lose touch with her personal creative practice.
After experiencing significant trauma and burnout, Pedersen stepped away from her professional path, taking a lower-level position in education while completing her studies. During this time of self-nurturing and working with children, she rekindled her artistic passion. This reawakening led her to become an Art Teaching Assistant and ultimately pursue a master's in art education at the University of Florida.
Now a full-time elementary school art teacher, Pedersen integrates her reconnection with her environment, community, and inner artist into both her teaching and personal artistic practice. Her creative work, informed by her surroundings and life experiences, continues to evolve, and she plans to further develop these interests in various forms after graduation.
